Presentation Summary: 
LOMR-Fs – Beyond Being In or Out of the Floodplain
Letters of Map Revision Based on Fill provide a mechanism for property owners to remove their structures and/or property from the Special Flood Hazard Area. This session will provide a behind the scenes look at processing LOMR-F and CLOMR-F applications. Attendees will also learn about the floodplain management requirements as well as what happens when an application is denied or flagged as a potential violation of the floodplain management regulations.



About our Speaker:
Ms. Shandi Teltschik is a Natural Hazards Program Specialist with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in Region VII, primarily focused on the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). Currently, Shandi serves as the Senior NFIP Specialist for FEMA Region VII. In her previous work, she has served as the Branch Chief of the Floodplain Management and Insurance Branch in FEMA Region VIII in Denver as well the Mapping Coordinator for the state of North Dakota. Shandi has numerous years of experience working with flood hazard mapping, floodplain management and regulation, flood insurance, and hydrologic and hydraulic riverine modeling. She received a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University with a major in Agricultural Engineering, emphasis in water resources, and completed her graduate studies at Texas A&M earning a Master of Engineering in Biological and Agricultural Engineering. As a result of her graduate project work, she was named a co-inventor for a U.S. patent for design of “A System and Method to Dissolve Gases Into Liquids.” Shandi is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of North Dakota and a Certified Floodplain Manager by the Association of State Floodplain Managers.
